Teresa is committed to supporting individuals, couples, and families in their healing journey from a place of compassion. As a transracial and transnational adoptee, Teresa brings a unique perspective to her work, offering insight into the complexities of racial identity, adoption, trauma, and relationships. Aiming to assist clients in accessing their true selves and heal from past wounds, Teresa integrates mindfulness, somatic experiencing, parts work, and trauma-informed approaches. She also utilizes Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to enhance emotional regulation and provide practical tools for clients managing anxiety and stress.
Teresa works primarily with teens, adults, and adoptees, guiding clients toward self-love, healing, and living in the present moment. With a focus on racial identity, adoption, trauma recovery, eating disorders (anorexia and bulimia), depression and anxiety management, she provides a safe, supportive space where clients can explore their inner worlds and build healthier, more fulfilling relationships, starting with the relationship with themselves.
Teresa’s approach is integrative and client-centered, aiming to help clients connect with and heal different parts of themselves. She also incorporates DBT and CBT to provide clients with practical tools for managing anxiety, depression, and emotional regulation. Through mindfulness, compassion, and somatic awareness, Teresa supports clients in navigating their trauma, understanding their emotions, and fostering self-compassion. Her goal is to help clients heal, live in the moment, and create healthier relationships with themselves and others.
In addition to her clinical work, Teresa has been certified in Thai Massage and is an expert mountain biker. The mind-body connection in extreme sports is something that she is passionate about and seeks to help other athletes strengthen their mental health as related to their athletic performance, and adversity within their sport. Furthermore, with 10 years of experience in the tech world, she gained valuable experience navigating the tech world as a woman of color, and maintaining self-identity through career changes, sabbaticals, and corporate challenges.
