M.A. Candidate, Medical Marriage & Family Therapy

she/her

With a background in Biology and a Ph.D. in Oncology, Concetta brings an innovative and evidence-based neuroscience-informed approach to therapy. She combines her research expertise in chronic disorders and stress with her specialization in Medical MFT. She helps both clients and their families navigate the unique challenges that come with health concerns or reproductive difficulties. That being said, her practice is not limited to medical aspects. She works with individuals, families, and couples experiencing a wide array of life stressors and struggles, including anxiety, depression, and relational problems. She supports clients in managing their feelings and behaviors by enhancing their strengths and shifting their negative patterns.

Drawing from an integrated biopsychosocial-spiritual approach, Concetta makes clients feel seen and guided to develop a more profound sense of hope and meaning. In her work with couples, she focuses on strengthening secure bonds, enhancing communication patterns, and providing conflict-resolution tools. Concetta is well-versed in the mind-body connection, chronic illnesses, perinatal mental health, parental and relational issues, stress, and attachment science.

Concetta’s therapeutic approach draws from several models, from cognitive-behavioral and solution-focused therapy to emotion-focused and mindfulness-based interventions. She also incorporates aspects of somatic therapy. Concetta's style is warm, compassionate, and flexible, to explore the best coping strategies for each client in an open, collaborative process. Her practice is fully inclusive and she believes that each person deserves to live a fulfilling, authentic life and that positive changes begin in the safety of the therapy room. She speaks both English and Italian.
